Janet L. Daniels
Janet Lue (Cooley) Daniels, 59,
of Clear Lake, passed away unexpect-
edly on Saturday, March 26, 2016, at
her home.
Per Janet’s wishes, her body has
been cremated and a memorial Mass
is being held in Bay Village, Ohio.
Janet was born on Dec. 25,
1956, in Pasadena, Calif. She was the
first of three children born to Gloria
(Shaffer) and Robert Cooley. Janet
was a graduate of Bay High School
in 1975. She attended Arizona State
University where she received a Bach-
elor’s Degree in Marketing and Com-
munications. Following graduation,
she moved to the Cleveland area,
where she resided for most of her
adult life.
She enjoyed spending time with
her family. She had a love for all ani-
mals, particularly cats, which earned
her the nickname, “Grandma Kitty,”
from her grandchildren.
Janet is survived by her parents,
Robert and Gloria (Shaffer) Cool-
ey, of Clear Lake; two sons, Philip
(Kelly) Daniels, of North Ridgeville,
Ohio and Patrick Daniels, of Cleve-
land, Ohio; seven grandchildren; a
brother, Philip (Shirley-Ann) Cooley,
of South Africa; and a sister, Pattie
(Mark) McLaughlin, of Florida.
She was preceded in death by her
daughter, Chelsea Gene Daniels.
Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Cha-
pel, Clear Lake, was in charge of ar-
rangements.
Harry P. Baago
Harry Popejoy Baago, 101, of
Clear Lake, died Monday, April 4,
2016, at his home surrounded by
family.
A Celebration of Life for Harry
and Ann Baago will be held from 3-6
p.m. Friday, April 22, 2016, at the
Clear Lake Arts Center, 17 S. Fourth
St., Clear Lake.

CL Cemetery
The Clear Lake Public Works
Department has begun picking up
and disposing of winter decorations,
wreaths, shepherd hooks, etc. The
work will continue through April 18.
Grave decorations placed after April
22 must abide by the following regula-
tions:
Fresh flowers, plants, artificial
wreaths or flower and plant holders
may be used or decorating the graves,
but must be placed within the con-
crete foundation or on the monument
or marker, except for Memorial Day.
Ten days before and 10 days after
Memorial Day, arrangements may be
placed on the graves, provided they are
in containers other than glass or pot-
tery. They must also be placed close to
the monument or marker.
Public Works employees will re-
move all items after this period. The
Cemetery shall not be held account-
able or responsible for these items.
Deteriorated arrangements will be re-
moved throughout the year.
Anyone with questions is asked to
call the Clear Lake Public Works De-
partment at 357-6135.

OBITUARIES
Jon L. Jensen
Jon Lowell Jensen, 87, of Clear
Lake, died Wednesday, March 30,
2016, at Muse-Norris Hospice Inpa-
tient Unit, in Mason City, Iowa, of
Parkinson’s disease.
A memorial service was held on
Saturday, April 2, at First Congrega-
tional Church of Christ, Mason City,
with the Rev. Chuck Kelsey officiat-
ing. A time of food and fellowship
followed the service at the church. A
private inurnment in the church’s co-
lumbarium will also be held on Satur-
day.
Memorials may be directed to
First Congregational United Church
of Christ in Mason City or a charity
of the donor’s choice.
Jon was born on Dec. 28, 1928,
in New Richland, Minn., to Harry
and Jane (Brynildson) Jensen and
grew up on the family farm near
New Richland. He graduated from
New Richland High School and from
Yankton College. Jon later did gradu-
ate study in hospital administration at
the University of Minnesota. He was
a veteran of the U.S. Army.
Jon’s career in health care admin-
istration began at St. Luke’s Hospital
in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and continued
with 23 years as administrator of Jack-
son County Public Hospital, in Ma-
quoketa, Iowa, and concluded with
12 years as the Executive Vice Presi-
dent of the Iowa Hospital Association.
Jon is survived by his wife of 40
years, Chris Jensen; by their children,
Jonna Jensen and Greg (Diana) Nico-
son; by their grandchildren, Noah Jon
Jensen Tabor (KC Claussen), Jona-
thon (Amber) Nicoson, Christopher
Nicoson, and Elizabeth Nicoson; by
his sisters, Marjorie Petersen and Beth
Hammel; by nieces and nephews; and
his son-in-law, Eric Tabor (Michael
Youngstrom).
Jon was preceded in death by his
parents; a brother, James Jensen; a sis- grandparents, many aunts, uncles and
