Zach Monson qualifies for U.S. Amateur Open
Zach Monson, formerly of Clear Lake, qualified for the U.S. Amateur Open to be held in Colorado, Aug. 13-19.
Monson qualified from a field of 88. He won by two strokes in the Dallas-Fort Worth area to qualify. The top two qualifiers move on to the U.S. Amateur Open.
Monson, who was a stand-out golfer for Clear Lake High School, graduated from CLHS in 2008. He recently graduated from Texas Wesleyan college, where he also played golf. He now works at Rivercrest Country Club, a golf course in Fort Worth, Tex.
