Waldron signs to play golf at Northwestern College

Dane Waldron, a Clear Lake High School senior, has signed a letter of intent to continue his golf career at Northwestern College next fall.

Waldron has played three years for the Clear Lake High School golf team heading into his senior season. A three-time state qualifier, Waldron finished fifth individually and led his team to a second place finish at the state meet last year. Waldron finished second at state as a sophomore and 13th as a freshman. He has a career scoring average of 73 and has won the last three Iowa Junior PGA

Championships. Waldron was also the 2013 Optimist Long Drive champion and plans to major in kinesiology or exercise science at Northwestern. He is the son of Todd and Sherri Waldron.

“Dane is a great addition to our Red Raider golf team,” commented head coach Aaron Aberson. “He is an extremely gifted player and is a great fit for our program. I’m looking forward to his contributions, both on and off the course, over the next four years.”
