Video cameras approved for CL buses

The Clear Lake School District has begun installing cameras on its school buses.

The School Board approved the action at its Tuesday, Dec. 17, meeting.   Following the action, installation was scheduled on six buses.

Video cameras, located in the front and back of the bus, will be used to monitor students behavior to maintain order on the buses and promote and maintain a safe environment, according to Superintendent Anita Micich.   The content of videotapes may be used in a student disciplinary proceeding.

Personnel changes

The Board also accepted the resignation of Lisa Pope, media/English/Language Arts teacher at Clear Lake High School, effective Dec. 20.  The District will advertise for a full-time High School/Middle School Technology Integration Coach to fill the position.  Paraprofessionals Stacy Eldridge and Gina Hemmings were also hired at Clear Creek.  Ethan Bredlow was also hired as a bus driver to replace Garry Oehlert, who resigned in November.
