Truck spills load onto highway
Father and son escape injury when truck
A Charles City man and his five-year-old son were transported to Mercy Medical Center-North Iowa after the grain truck the man was driving overturned on Highway 18, near Interstate 35, Wednesday afternoon, May 29.
Brian Sachen, 34, and Jaymison Sachen, a passenger in the truck, were treated and released from the hospital.
According to police, Sachen was exiting I-35 and turning west on Highway 122 when he lost control of the vehicle. The truck tipped over, spilling a load of beans onto the roadway.
The highway was temporarily closed to westbound traffic. Vehicles were re-routed around the scene.
The truck is owned by Anthony D. Bill Trucking, of Charles City.
The accident remains under investigation.
