Tickets for 2012 Winter Dance Party are going fast

    You’d better act fast if you want to attend the 2012 Winter Dance Party at the Surf Ballroom.
    Executive Director Laurie Lietz said Monday that the event is close to being a sell-out.   Ticket sales began Tuesday, Oct. 11.  In fact,  booths are sold out, but a waiting list has been established, Lietz said
    Chuck Berry will headline the Feb. 2-4, 2012 Winter Dance Party.  Berry will perform on Saturday night along with John Mueller’s Winter Dance Party, The Bobbettes, Sid King and The Five Strings.

    Friday’s Sock Hop features Big Sandy and his Fly-Rite Boys with special guests Marshall Lytle of the Original Comets and Tommy Allsup.
    The three-day Winter Dance Party ticket also includes a Thursday night concert with performances by Jason D. Williams, Danny and The Juniors, and The Flamingos starring Terry Johnson.
    A Wednesday evening “Warm-Up Concert, with entertainment to be announced, is a separate $7 (advance) ticket. 
    Advance tickets for the 2012 Winter Dance Party event (Thursday-Saturday) are $110 each.  Tickets for the event are non-refundable.  Tickets may be purchased online at the Surf Ballroom’s website (www.surfballroom.com) or by calling the Surf’s box office at 641-357-6151.
    A very limited quantity of VIP tickets are available for $210. Each ticket includes admission to the event for the evenings of Feb. 2-4, seating in the VIP bar area, light hors de oeuvres and three complimentary drinks.
