Three Clear Lake players earn All-NCC honors

Three members of the Clear Lake Lions have received All-North Central Conference honors.

The group was led by Matt Stephany, who was a unanimous First Team All-NCC selection.  The Clear Lake senior averaged 15.2 points per game and scored a team-high 319 points.  His fieldgoal shooting percentage (58.6) also topped the team.   He pulled own 119 

rebounds in 21 games played for an aver of 5.7 per game.  He recorded a team-high 21 blocks and dished out 77 assists during the season.

“Matt was a leader for us and obviously a leader for us stat wise,” said Head Coach Jeremy Ainley.  “He took on a bit of a new role this year for us as more of a post player and did a great job.  He was a huge key to us winning the conference and was really a joy to coach.”

Brock Adams, was also a First Team All-NCC selection.  The senior guard averaged 13.0 points per game and was the Lions’ main three-point shooting threat.  He made 50 three-pointers during the season with a shooting average of 32.9.  He was the second leading scorer for the team with 272 points in 21 games played.  He averaged 3.8 rebounds per game.  He led the team in assists with 135 and in steals with 51.

“Brock was our best outside threat and had a lot of big games shooting the three, but he was also our energy guy.  He has a tremendous motor and would make things happen in a game that are sometimes uncoachable.  He was very unselfish leading us in assists and was not even the primary ball handler,” said Coach Ainley.

Senior Tamarik Lee was a Third Team All-NCC pick.  Lee was the leading rebounder for the Lions, grabbing 120 rebounds for an average of 5.7 per game.  He was the third leading scorer with 184 points, a 8.8 point per game average.

“Tamarik was a bit of an unknown at the start of the year,” said the coach.  “He has great physical attributes, but bought in to what we were teaching and really grew into a good basketball player.  He had some very big games for us and was a key piece to a lot of our success as a low post threat.”
