Supervisor race is a hot ticket
Clear Lakers Grandon and Good file in final week
Seven candidates-- three Republicans and four Democrats-- have filed nomination papers for the Cerro Gordo County District 2 Supervisor position. Bob Amosson, a Republican who has held the position for 13 years, is not seeking re-election.
Primaries for both parties will be held Tuesday, June 3.
The field of candidates includes five from Clear Lake, along with a resident of Rockwell and another from Swaledale.
In the final week of filing for candidates Republican Ivan Good and Democrat Michael Grandon, both of Clear Lake, turned in their nomination papers.
On the Republican slate
Good, who is employed at Glen’s Tire Service in Clear Lake, is a former Cerro Gordo County Republican chairman. He is making his third bid for the supervisor position.
In 1994, Good was in a four-way Republican primary race in which none of the candidates received the required 35 percent of the vote. The nominee was picked at a county convention in which Roger Broers was the eventual winner. In 2001, after -Read More Via e-Edition
