Simon W. Hemmings

Simon Wesley Hemmings, infant son of Peter and Gina Hemmings, of Ventura, died Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2014 at the Mercy Medical Center North Iowa, Mason City.

Memorial services were held on Saturday, Feb. 8, 2014 at the Clear Lake Regular Baptist Church, Clear Lake, with Rev. Steve Cox officiating. 

  Simon Wesley Hemmings passed from the womb into the loving arms of Jesus around 5:16 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 22, and his lifeless, but beautiful body was delivered at 5:58 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 23.  His perfect little body that was fearfully and wonderfully made by his Heavenly Father weighed 9 lbs. 6.4 oz. and was 21 3/4” long. 

  Left to cherish Simon’s memory are his loving parents, Peter and Gina (Van Der Molen) Hemmings, Ventura; maternal grandfather, Roger “Papa” Van Der Molen, Pella, Iowa; and paternal grandparents, Roger and Beth Hemmings, Ottumwa, Iowa.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Jean “Meema” Van Der Molen.

Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
