Shirley J. Eymann
Shirley June Eymann, 86, of Verona, Wis., died peacefully Sept. 5, 2013 after a brief stay at the Agrace Hospice in Fitchburg, Wis. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 14, 2013 at St. James Evangelical Lutheran Church, 427 S. Main Street, Verona, Wis., with Rev. Dr. Kurt Billings officiating. Family will receive
friends one hour prior to church services on Saturday at the church. Following the service, there will be a burial ceremony at the Verona City Cemetery. After internment, the family will host a celebration reception at 540 N. Nine Mound Road in Verona.
Shirley was born on April 7, 1927 in Dubuque, Iowa, the youngest child of Joseph and Bertha Jungwirth. Shirley attended high school in Dubuque and graduated from Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa. Shirley was married to Ernest Ulbrich previously, and was widowed one and a half years later. She was united in marriage to Don Eymann on Aug. 15, 1950 in Mason City, Iowa. She enjoyed traveling, entertaining, gardening, fishing, playing cards, but her greatest love and enjoyment was her family and friends. She attended St. James Evangelical Lutheran Church in Verona.
Left to cherish her memory are her three children, Suzanne Wright of Oregon City, Ore., Joni Fields and her husband, Dan, of Miromar Lakes, Fla., and Jan Eymann-McConville and her husband, Tim, of Verona, Wis.; and five grandchildren, Jenny, Stephanie, Leanna, Tyler, and Kolby.
She was proceeded in death by her husband, Don; her parents; three brothers, Clarence, Arnold and Joseph; and two sisters, Hazel and Lorraine.
In lieu of flowers, Shirley’s family has requested that any memorial contributions be made to Agrace Hospice, 5395 E. Cheryl Parkway, Madison, WI 53711. Online condolences may be made at www.gundersonfh.com. Gunderson Fitchburg Funeral & Cremation Care was in charge of arrangements.
