Second Annual Wag Walk to benefit soon-to-open dog park is May 2

Mark your calendars for the second annual (2K-5K) six-legged Wag Walk fundraiser to be held on Sunday, May 2, starting at noon. The event will start and end at City Park.  No registration will be needed.  A free will donation will be participants’ entry into the walk.

The donations for the Clear Lake Dog Park have been going very well.  Currently, three quarters of the $40,000 goal has been reached.  The funds have been raised from grants, foundations, businesses and personal contributions.  The Park and Recreation Department anticipate the park will be basically completed by mid to late summer.

Additional donations are needed to purchase recycled park benches, bag holders, and signage.  Donations may be made to the “Friends of the Outdoor Recreation Complex (ORC) and send donations to Clear Lake Park and Rec., 800 1st Ave. S., Clear Lake.

A suggestion for a contribution is a park bench mounted on concrete with a personalized plaque, which a $400 contribution will purchase.   A bag holder set in concrete would cost $200 and signage will vary depending on the content of the sign.
