The season of giving: Giving Tree returning
The Giving Tree has returned again this year and marks the beginning of the giving season, almost ready for volunteers to grab a name off the tree and shop for a child or entire family. It also marks a transition of Clear Lake Kids and Families in Need, the organization that runs The Giving Tree.
Clear Lake Kids and Families in Need will continue partnering with the school and community organizations as a community based nonprofit organization. They will continue to help meet needs in the community as before, as well as partnering with the Share Life Kids’ Cafe, the Winter Share Shop and, of course, The Giving Tree.
The tree is expected to be up by November 21 and the public is invited to stop in to the Clear Lake Mirror-Reporter to choose ornaments. Although toys are always a fun gift, The Giving Tree is primarily intended to help meet families’ needs. The age of a child, as well as their sizes, appear on the ornaments.
Ornaments can be picked up at the Mirror-Reporter Office, 12 N. 4th St., between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Gifts need to be returned to the office by December 16 so that Kids and Families in Need can get the gifts out by December 18.
