Ryg is first CLPD officer chosen for FBI Academy

Lieutenant Debra Ryg, of the Clear Lake Police Department, has been notified that she has been accepted to attend the prestigious F.B.I. Academy in Quantico, Virginia.

    Ryg will be attending the 10 week session that runs from April 7 through June 14.  The F.B.I. Academy is considered one of the country’s top three police staff and command schools. The entire cost of the training is paid for by the federal government as a way to professionalize police management across the country.
    Clear Lake and the rest of Iowa are in the F.B.I district based out of Omaha, Neb.  Only a few police officers in this district are selected to attend this training each year.  A police officer from Cedar Falls and one officer from Nebraska will be attending the - Read More Via e-Edition
