Ruby E. Bork
Ruby Elaine Bork, 86, of Clear Lake, passed away peacefully on June 2, 2014 at the Oakwood Care Center, Clear Lake. She went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, who she had loved and served her whole life, and was reunited with dearly loved family who had gone to heaven before her. A celebration of her life will be at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 14, 2014 at the Clear Lake Open Bible Church, Clear Lake, with Pastor Will Hunsaker officiating.
Ruby was born on June 14, 1927 in Grafton, Iowa, the daughter of Albert and Gertrude (Rademaker) Walk. She was raised on a farm outside of Grafton with her six brothers and sisters. She often told stories of the good times they had growing up there.
Ruby married Roy Bork on Jan. 20, 1950 in Grafton, and to this union they had five children, four girls and a boy in the middle. Ruby and Roy loved all their children very much and made each one feel very special. Even after the children were grown, they all continued to have very special times doing things with their mom and having a close relationship with her. Mom often said, “We are blessed to have such a loving family.” The family would like to extend their appreciation to the Oakwood Care Center and Hospice of North Iowa for the wonderful care given to her.
Left to cherish Ruby’s memories are her five children, Dixie (Rick) Lundquist, Clear Lake, Janice (Don) Broome, Sun City, Ariz., Mike Bork, Boone, Iowa, Coleen (Tom) Lenhart, Katy, Texas, Carol (Don) Rodemeyer, Olive Branch, Miss., and along with Remy (Dave) Baldus, Nevada, Iowa; 13 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Betty (John) Hall, Lisbon, Iowa.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy, in 1989; grandson, Tim Rodemeyer, in 1992; and other grandchildren and great-grandchildren before birth; her parents, Albert and Gertrude Walk; four brothers, Bobby, Donny, Lloyd and Buddy; and one sister, Fern Dalluge.
Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, Clear Lake, was in charge of arrangements.
