One killed in vehicle rollover

A Forest City man was killed after he lost control of his vehicle on a gravel road, causing it to rollover and eject him.

The Clear Lake Fire Department was among the emergency responders to the call at 4:47 p.m. Monday, July 15.  

According to the Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s Office, the driver of the vehicle, David Gambell, 56, was westbound on 275th Street near the intersection with Lark Avenue, when he lost control of his vehicle, causing it to roll into the ditch and eject him.

Gambell was transported to Mercy Medical Center-North Iowa by Mercy Air Med, where he was pronounced dead.

The accident remains under investigation.

Mason City Fire Medics and the Iowa State Patrol also responded to the scene.
