Men arrested following theft

 

An arrest has been made following a theft at an acreage north of Clear Lake.

Two Klemme men were arrested Wednesday, Oct. 31, for allegedly stealing items at 9050A 300th St., Clear Lake.  A citizen reported suspicious activity on the property to the Sheriff’s Department.

Arlo Victor Hoeft, 53, and Tony Lewis Baysinger, 49, were both charged with second degree theft, a Class D felony, according to a press release from the Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s Department.

Around 12:39 p.m., the Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s Department was called to the residence on a report of items being stolen, according to the press release.  After an investigation, Hoeft and Baysinger were arrested and charged with theft.

Both were transported to the Cerro Gordo County Jail where they were held on bond.  Both were released and will appear in court at a later date.
