Meet the candidates for District 2 County Supervisor
Seven candidates-- three Republicans and four Democrats-- are seeking the Cerro Gordo County District 2 Supervisor position. Bob Amosson, a Republican who has held the position for 13 years, is not seeking re-election.
Primaries for both parties will be held Tuesday, June 3.
The field of candidates includes five from Clear Lake, along with a resident of Rockwell and another from Swaledale.
On the Republican slate
Ivan Good, of Clear Lake, is making his third bid for the supervisor position. His opposition includes Casey Callanan, who has been involved in Republican politics on the state and federal level for several years. Scott Kennedy, of Clear Lake, a long time member of the Republican party and Cerro Gordo County Soil and Water Commissioner.
Four Democrats on ballot
Michael Grandon served as Cerro Gordo County treasurer for 36 years, retiring from the position in 2010. Also on the ballot is Doug Nelson, a rural Clear Lake farmer who has twice run for the District 2 Supervisor position and was defeated by Amosson. Adam Wedmore lives in Rockwell, while John Drury is currently serving his seventh term as mayor of Swaledale. - Read More Via e-Edition
