Mary Anne Lydon, 88, Des Moines, Iowa, went to be with God after a 10 year battle with Alzheimer’s on Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2015, at Bishop Drumm Care Center, in Johnston, Iowa.

Funeral services were held on Monday, Jan. 12, at Our Lady of Peace Chapel, Bishop Drumm Care Center, 5837 Winwood Drive, Johnston, with burial at Glendale Cemetery.

  Mary Anne was born Sept. 17, 1926, in Des Moines, Iowa, the daughter of Raleigh and Nellie (Winberg) Franklin. 

She is survived by her children, Kathy (Vern) Jager, Dennis (Terry), Patrick (Janet), and Nancy (Steven) Sims; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. 

She was preceded in death by Paul, her loving husband of over 50 years; her parents; and two brothers.
