Lonnie Bosch

 

Lonnie L. Bosch, 56, of Rockwell, Iowa, died Saturday, Dec. 22, 2012 at his home, surrounded by his loving family. Funeral services were held on Thursday, Dec. 27, 2012 at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, Rockwell, with the Rev. Rhea Evanson officiating.  Interment was at the Rockwell Cemetery.  Memorials may be directed to the Lonnie Bosch Memorial Fund in care of the family.  Online condolences may be left for the family at www.majorericksonfuneralhome.com.  

  Lonnie was born March 27, 1956 in Mason City, Iowa, the son of Cecil and Lynnea (Lowe) Bosch.  He graduated from Rockwell-Swaledale High School in 1974.  On March 21, 1975, Lonnie married Kim Petersen at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Rockwell.  Aside from farming his whole life, Lonnie also coached middle school girls basketball in Rockwell for 25 plus years. He loved coaching basketball for his children and family. Lonnie also enjoyed watching women’s basketball. He later worked part-time as a rural mail carrier.  Lonnie thoroughly enjoyed all his jobs throughout the years.  He also enjoyed watching Nascar and racing, race cars, basketball, and fishing. His passion the last few years was fixing up and racing his cars with his Mopar friends. Lonnie  loved spending time with his family - especially his grandchildren.  His friends were also very important to him.  Lonnie was as a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, MOPAR Club, Central Club, and a past member of the Lions.  

Lonnie is survived by his wife of 37 years, Kim Bosch of Rockwell;  his children, Krystle Bosch-Allison and husband, Adam, of Clarion, Iowa, and Bobby Joe Bosch and wife, Deborah, of Rockford, Iowa;  five grandchildren, Nathaniel, Alexander, and Kendrick Bosch, and Ace and Eli Allison;  his mother, Lynnea Bosch Smith of Rockwell;  siblings, Lori Sprung and husband, Ted, of Swaledale, Iowa, Sheri Sprung and husband, Charley, of Mason City, and Julie Hansen and husband, Mike, of Rockwell;  mother and father-in-law, Jack and Jo Ann Petersen of Rockwell; two brothers-in-law, Scott Petersen and wife, Stephanie, of Laurel, Neb., and Kevin Petersen and wife, Jacque, of Mason City; and one sister-in-law,  Toni Petersen of Rockwell.  He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and special friends.

He was preceded in death by his father and his grandparents. 

Arrangements were made with Major Erickson Funeral Home & Crematory, Mason City.
