Lloyd was born April 28, 1925, in Earlham, Iowa, the son of William “Willie” J. and Daisy M. (Shields) Boyer.  He lived and helped on the family farm until Willie retired in 1965, and they moved to Yuma, Az., where they resided until 1977.  In the early 1980’s he became a resident of Opportunity Village.

Lloyd was always a hard, conscientious worker on the farm and at the Village.  He enjoyed riding his tricycle, and especially making his own money with a specific ruler.  He loved his family very much and cherished any time that was spent with them.

He was a member of the Clear Lake Evening Lions.

Lloyd is survived by three brothers, Gerald (Ethel) Boyer of Spencer, Iowa, Donald Boyer, of Clear Lake, and Clifford (Marge Sheldon) Boyer, of Mason City; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Ernie Boyer; and four sisters-in-law, Ruby, Evelyn, Marvene, and Earlene.

Lloyd’s family would like to express their sincere appreciation and gratitude to Opportunity Village for the care and love shown to Lloyd for so many years.

Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, Clear Lake, was in charge of arrangements.
