Algona Meet
The weather didn’t slow the Clear Lake girls golf team down Monday night, April 16. The Lions topped Algona 184-215 in North Central Conference action.
Meg Monson had the low score for the night, coming in with a 43 to lead the Lions.
Other members of the team, Malorie Fischels, Lexi Lovik, Paige Backhaus and Emily Monson, all carded 47s.
“The girls played well on a nasty night,” said Coach Fred Wieck. “Meg continues to lead us and we are showing good depth. Emily Monson is the surprise player of the year so far, holding on to her number six varsity spot.”
Webster City Meet
The Clear Lake girls golf team proved that they are more than a one girl team, as the Lions picked up a triangular victory at the Links Course in Webster City on Tuesday, April 17. The win came without the help of Clear Lake’s number one golfer, Meg Monson. Monson, who shot a 37, was disqualified on a clerical error after signing the wrong scorecard.
Malorie Fischels and Paige Backhaus picked up the slack, each firing off rounds of 45.
