Lions move to 4-2

The team traveled to Garrigan on Tuesday and will host Eagle Grove on Friday in their final game before the holiday break.

The Lions typically doubled the score on the visiting Clarion-Goldfield Cowboys Tuesday and in the end they earned a 73-40 victory.
“I thought we played well on both ends of the floor,” said Coach Kevin Kahler. “Our defense and rebounding was very good.”
The Lions’ transition game was another big key in the win.
“We were able to get out and run the floor and get some easy baskets. We wanted to speed them up, and I thought we did a good job of doing that,” added Kahler.
Clear Lake held a 42-22 lead at halftime, then after more even third period the Lions outscored the Cowboys 21-6 in the fourth.
Four Lions finished in double figures. Spencer Davidson and Bryson Hamilton had 17 and 16 points respectively, followed by Pete Swenson with 12 and Gavin Sheakley with 11. The fifth starter, Chase Lester, had five points. Luke Schiller and Davis Dieken came off the bench to score four apiece and Paul Raner and JJ Theobald had two points each.
