Lions host Jim Ahrens Meet

The Clear Lake boys track team participated in a pair of co-ed meets last week.  The Lions finished in the middle of the pack at Garner, then hosted the Jim Ahrens meet Thursday.

    Forest City ran away with the team title with 144 points, but the Lions showed well with 71 points to finish fourth. 

Belmond-Klemme was second with 99 points and Garner-Hayfield had 78. The remainder of the field included Hampton-Dumont (62), Newman (48), Northwood-Kensett (37) and Cal-Latimer (12).
    The Lions got a two-three finish in the 100 meter dash from Aaron Boeshart and Tre Strowder.  Boeshart was second in 11.6 and Strowder third in 11.71.
    Jake Harle was second in the 200 meters, running a 22.57 and teammate Josh Copney picked up a point with a sixth place finish in 24.51.  Harle was also fourth in the long jump with a leap of 18’ 6.5”.
    Chase Crosby and Mitchell Jordan finished fourth and fifth respectively in the hot put.  Crosby had a toss of 41’ 5.75” and Jordan threw the shot 39’ 4.5”.
    Alex Webb earned third place in the 800 meter run in 2:10.20. 
    Connor Nosbisch was sixth in the 110 hurdles in 17.38.  Alex Enabnit also finished sixth in the 3200 meter run in a time of 11:37.01 and Tanner Tusha was sixth in the 400 hurdles in 1:01.22.
    In the relay events, the 4x800 team of Alex Webb, Christian Paulsen, Jake Iverson and Mitch Camphu was third in 9:05.87. 
    Four relays placed fourth.  They were: the 4x100 with Harle, Chandler Diercks, Strowder, and Boeshart in 47.60; the 4x200 with Cody Maulsby, Ozzie Adams, Strowder, and Boeshart in 1:41.22; the 4x400 with handler Diercks, Hunter Bruns, Paulsen and Camphu in 3:49.24; and 440 shuttle hurdle with Tusha, Tamarik Lee, Diercks, and Jake Kockler in 1:07.25. The Distance Medley with Dustin King, Steven Akers, Bruns, and  Iverson was sixth in 4:05.75.

Jim Ahrens Meet
    Chandler Diercks posted a first place finish for the Lions at the Jim Ahrens Co-ed Meet held Thursday at Lions Field.  Diercks won the long jump with a leap of 20’ 4.5” 
    The next best finish for the Lions came in the 3200 meter run, where Alex Enabnit was second in 11:08.32.  Alex Webb was third in the 800 meter run in 2:09.79. 
    Clear Lake’s 4x400 relay with Chandler Diercks, Hunter Bruns, Christian Paulsen, and Mitch Camphu was fourth in 3:41.17.
