Krefft named new YSF Coordinator
Clear Lake resident Billy Krefft has been named the new Clear Lake Youth Sports Foundation Coordinator.
Krefft has been an active member and coach of youth sports in the city for many years and was head coach for a third-fourth grade YSF football team for the last two seasons. Krefft is an account executive at KIMT TV and promoter
of local events. He is also a member of the Clear Lake Fire Department and he volunteers his time for many local programs.
“Teaching the fundamentals, the basics, in team sports at this level is such a priority. It gives the kids a ton of confidence and a higher level of fun,” said Krefft. “Safety is a big concern in any sport with our youth. YSF provides a system that we, as parents, can have a lot of faith in. They provide quality equipment and a well-designed and proven mission. Football is a passion of mine and fun is on the menu. I promise to continue the quality YSF program here in Clear Lake and will work with families and the coaching and athletic staff at the middle school and high school level to make it a very positive experience.”
Krefft said he has big shoes to fill. Jeff Kelso, the former Clear Lake YSF Coordinator and YSF coach for seven years, raised three boys in the program and built a good reputation within Clear Lake YSF.
