Kenneth Lincicum

Kenneth E. Lincicum, 92, formerly of Clear Lake, died Tuesday, April 7, 2015 at the Good Shepherd Health Center, Mason City, Iowa.

    A memorial service was held on Friday, April 10, 2015 at the Clear Lake United Methodist Church, Clear Lake, with the Rev. Bernie Colorado officiating.  Burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery, Mason City, with military honors provided by the Clear Lake V.F.W.

     Kenneth was born June 25, 1922 in Granada, Minn., the son of Edmund Jesse and Ruth Elizabeth (Ott) Lincicum.  The family moved to Clear Lake where he grew up and graduated from Clear Lake High School in 1940.  Following school he worked as a metalsmith and carpenter apprentice. Kenneth enlisted in the U.S. Navy in January 1943, serving in the Pacific tour.  He was honorably discharged in December 1945.   Kenneth married Blanche Weiland on March 11, 1945 at her family’s home.  

     Kenneth and Blanche lived in Clear Lake where he was a home builder.  He was a member of the Clear Lake Methodist Church, charter member of the V.F.W., life member of the Men’s Garden Club of North Iowa, and Odd Fellows 4868.  He enjoyed woodworking, gardening and hunting.

     Kenneth is survived by his wife of 70 years, Blanche Lincicum, Mason City; two sons, Kenneth Randal (Vivian) Lincicum, Mason City, and Dennis Charles (Karen) Lincicum, Ankeny, Iowa;  six grandchildren,  Michele Flynn, Des Moines, Iowa,  Adam (Julie) Lincicum, Evans, Ga., and their children, Madelyn and Andrew, Carrie Lincicum, Mason City, Amy Lincicum, Des Moines, Zachary (Trisha) Ankeny, and their children, Kori Lynn and Macie Ray, and Michael Lincicum, Des Moines; several nieces and nephews; and lifelong  friend and hunting partner, Jack Kennedy, Clear Lake.

     Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Cecil, Leon, and Clayton; and sisters, Viola Lincicum and Eleanor “Jeanne” Gibbish. 

Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, Clear Lake, was in charge of arrangements.
