Jury finds Lake man guilty of sexual assault

    A Clear Lake man has been found guilty of sexually assaulting a 16-year-old girl in November 2011 and supplying alcohol to a minor.
    A jury reached its verdict Friday in Cerro Gordo County District Court against 30-year-old Alan Michael Cannon.  Sentencing has been set for 11:20 a.m. July 23 in

District Court.
    Cannon is also scheduled to go to trial Aug. 21 on two counts of solicitation to commit murder, one count of conspiracy to commit murder and one count of attempted murder.  Those charges stem from an incident in December 2011 when he allegedly offered two men money to kill the defendant in the sexual abuse case.
    Cannon is being held in the Cerro Gordo County Jail under $160,000 cash or surety bond.
