John Bledsoe

 

John Junior Bledsoe, 84, of 523 10th Ave. N, Clear Lake, died Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2012 at home. 

Due to his wishes he will be cremated and a memorial graveside service will be held at a later time in the Clear Lake Cemetery.  Family suggest memorials to John Junior Bledsoe Memorial Fund in care of his daughter Donna Prescott, 46117 212th Ave., Lake Mills, IA 50450

John was born Oct. 10, 1928 in Hartville, Mo., the son of John Adison and Pearl Gean (Nichols) Bledsoe.

John married Patricia (Pat) Burl Neal on Dec. 28, 1946 in Mountain Home, Ark.  He and Pat had five children. 

  He worked at the Clear Lake Bakery for 37 years. 

John and Pat loved to garden, camp and fish with family and friends, and to bargain hunt at garage sales.  He was a life-long tinkerer, often buying and repairing items to be resold at their own garage sales. He enjoyed woodworking and was  an avid fan of professional wrestling.

John is survived by his four children, Roger A. Bledsoe and wife, Nancy, of Coon Rapids, Minn.; Donna S. Prescott and husband, Marvin, of Lake Mills, Iowa; John David Bledsoe and wife, Barbara, of Galesburg, Ill., and Linda M. Dickersbach and husband, Steven, of Malvern, Iowa; daughter-in-law, Kathy Bledsoe, Clear Lake; his brother, Richard Bledsoe, Hartville, Mo.; and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

  He was preceded in death by his wife; parents; his three sisters, Carrie Belle Ryan, Anna Mae Blanton and Mary June Bledsoe; his brother, Harold Bledsoe; and his son, Steven Bledsoe.  

Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, Clear Lake, was in charge of arrangements.
