Jeffrey Scott Walk was born on Sept. 11, 1958 in Mason City, the son of Everett and Teresa (Crapser) Walk. Jeff was raised in Mason City and attended Hoover Elementary school in Mason City.  One of the greatest blessings in Jeff’s life was having Mrs. Roberta Vaandewalker as a teacher. She recognized and worked with children with special needs to make sure they received the education and care they deserved.
In Jeff’s later years he lived at Opportunity Village where he helped the cleaning crew after meals by sweeping the floors and wiping down tables.  He also worked in the paper sorting station.  He was very happy as a member of the Morning Sun family.  He had many friends.
Jeff loved taking trips with Opportunity Village to area farms to visit the animals.  He loved all animals, but puppies were his favorite.  Jeff also liked music and looked forward to his musical therapy sessions, as well as watching football, and going over to his sister, Teri’s, house to spend time with his family.  Jeff never forgot a name or a face.  Anyone who knew Jeff never forgot him.
Those grateful in sharing in Jeff’s life are his father and step-mother, Everett and Beverly Walk, Mason City; his sister, Teri (Ron) Gustin, Clear Lake; his step-siblings, Marsha Heston, Mason City, Brad (Dawn) Lunning, Mason City, and Scott (Linda) Lunning, Mason City; his niece, Ronnie Daniels, Minneapolis, Minn.; his nephews, Eric (Kerri) Gustin, Meservy, Iowa, Chad Gustin, Clear Lake, and Matt Gustin, Clear Lake; his aunt, Coreine Tevis, Cedar Rapids, Iowa; his honorary grandmother, Juanita Cole, Clear Lake; and his friends, Bob and Sarah Engbretson, Clear Lake, and all of his friends at Opportunity Village, especially his cottage-mates of the Morning Sun Cottage.
Jeff is preceded in death by his mother in 1962; his brother, Tom Walk, in 2010; his grandparents; uncles; and one aunt.
Ward Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, was in charge of arrangements.
