James K. Ebling

 

James (Jim) K. Ebling, 65, of Clear Lake, passed away in his home Thursday, Aug. 8, 2013 surrounded by his loving family.

Per Jim’s wishes, cremation services will be conducted.

James K. Ebling was born in Chicago, Ill., on Aug. 14, 1947 to George and Iverene (Bingham) Ebling.  After high school, Jim enlisted in the United States Army and served honorably in the Vietnam War.  Following his military career, he became a police officer in Arizona.  After a few years, he switched jobs and started working quality control for Lear Jet Company and for TRW, Arizona.

Jim met his wife, Karen (LeMaster) Ebling, while working, and the two were married just eight months from the time they met. Jim and Karen were united on July 11, 1998 in Mesa, Ariz., where they lived.  In 2008 after retiring, they moved to Clear Lake, where they enjoyed traveling and taking cruises. They both enjoyed the change of seasons here in Iowa and loved being around family.

Those left to cherish Jim’s memory are his wife, Karen Ebling; his dog and faithful companion, Pepper (Buddy); son, Jon Ramsey and family, Kearney, Ariz.; daughters, Tina Jones and family, Mesa, Heather (Mike) Germaine and family, Goodhue, Minn., and Hope (Danny) McCarty and family, Downy, Calif.; and sister, Nancy Hubbard and family, Mesa.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, George and Iverene Ebling.

Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, Clear Lake, was in charge of arrangements.
