The Jack draws a crowd

The sixth annual “The Jack” Helgren Memorial Iowa Lemans Championship drew a large audience and number of participants to Clear Lake State Park 

Saturday.  The event is a memorial to Jack Helgren, an area businessman, avid snowmobiler, former dealer/racer, and promoter of the sport.  Brad Cones, from Fairmont, Minn., recorded the fastest time of the day.   He rode 132.19 mph along the 500-foot track.  The event also featured races, including a Kitty Kat snowmobile race for the youngsters
