Herbert “Herb” Bonin Wyvonne “Bonnie” Bonin
Herbert “Herb” Herman Bonin, 88, of Mesa, Az., formally of Clear Lake, was born June 21, 1923 In Buckeye, Iowa, and died April 10, 2012 at Banner Baywood Hospital in Mesa.
Wyvonne “Bonnie” Charlotte Bonin, 87, of Mesa, and formally of Clear Lake was born Dec. 15, 1924 in Des Moines, Iowa and died April 16, 2012 at Banner Hospice in Mesa.
Memorial services were held at Mountain View Funeral Home Chapel, Mesa, by Pastor John Albrecht, Love of Christ Lutheran Church, Mesa.
Herb grew up in Alden, Iowa and Bonnie grew up in Des Moines. She later moved to Chicago, Ill. Herb and Bonnie met while working together at Imperial Seed Company of Clear Lake. They were married Dec. 21, 1947 in Clear Lake. Herb worked for Water Tower Paint and Repair. Bonnie worked for Community State Bank of Iowa. After retirement in 1983, Herb and Bonnie moved to Mesa where Herb enjoyed golfing, ushering every Sunday at his church and being a loyal Iowa Hawkeye fan. Bonnie spent her days active in Christian Women’s Group, crocheting, hiking in the mountains and collecting pigs.
Herb and Bonnie are survived by their four children, Diane (Don) Jackson of Mesa, Rosemary (Gary) Newhouse of Hopkins, Minn., Peggy Bonin of Mesa, and Brad (Louanne) Bonin of Clear Lake; six grandchildren, Ronda Secory, Corey (Kathy) Jackson, Tracey Taylor, Emily (Jeff) Boyer, Katie and Molly Bonin; four great-grandchildren, Mathew Secory, Hunter and Alexis Jackson, Logan Boyer and their special Iowa Hawkeye friend, Don Secory.
Herb and Bonnie were preceded in death by their two infant daughters and their parents. Memorials may be given to Love of Christ Lutheran Church, Mesa.
