Hazy summer days continue
North Iowa and the entire state was placed under a heat advisory Monday and Tuesday, as temperatures pushed into the 90’s. According to the National Weather Service, if the
forecast is correct, this will be the hottest end of August on record for the area for the seven-day period from Sunday, Aug. 25 through Saturday, Aug. 31. Humidity is also a factor. The heat index, which is the actual temperature factored with relative humidity, the “feels like” temperature topped 100 in many parts of the state. The forecast shows only a slight chance for relief from the heat. Most of the state will see little change, with highs in the 90’s at least through the holiday weekend.
