Hamilton to represent CLHS in Iowa Shrine All-Star Football game
Clear Lake High School football standout Bryson Hamilton, a 2013 CLHS graduate, will be playing in the 2013 Iowa Shrine All-Star football game on Saturday, July 27 at the UNI Dome in Cedar Falls.
The goal of the Iowa Shrine All-Star football game is to raise money to benefit Shriners’ hospitals for Children. Their motto is “Stong legs run, so weak legs may walk.”
The Iowa Shrine All-Star football team consists of a North and South team. Hamilton will be playing on the North Team. The all-star football roster will include 92 top pre-college football players selected through a series of coach nominations, ballot voting from sports media professionals, and a final invitation from the Iowa Shrine Bowl.
Other area players representing the North Team include Brandon Johnson, Eagle Grove; Tate Thompson, Forest City; Jon Erickson, Lake Mills; Patrick Smith, West Hancock; Javen Swann, Mason City; Bryan Larson, Humboldt; Kane Louscher, Newman Catholic; Max Gangestad, Clarion-Goldfield; and Boone Myers, Webster City.
Head Coach for the North team is Mike Dirksen, from Newman Catholic. Assistant coaches include Josh Bolluyt, Spirit Lake; Kelly Williamson, Eagle Grove; Bill Byrnes, Lake Mills; Pat Norem, Iowa Falls-Alden; and Chad Moore, Forest City.
This fall, Hamilton will be attending Augustana College in Sioux Falls, S.D., to play football and study pre-engineering.
His parents are Scott and Tammi Hamilton, of Clear Lake.
