GOPs announce Rand Paul is coming to area

 Cerro Gordo GOP Chairman Gabriel Haugland has announced that U.S. Senator Rand Paul (R-Kent.) will headline a breakfast fundraiser for the Cerro Gordo County GOP on Tuesday, Aug. 5, from 8-9 a.m. at the Mason City Airport Restaurant, located at the Municipal Airport.
 Sen. Paul will appear alongside other local and statewide elected Republican officials at the breakfast.

  “This is another exciting day for the Cerro Gordo Republicans,” said Haugland, who also recently announced Texas Governor Rick Perry (R-Texas) will be returning to North Iowa on July 19 and 20 for a series of events with local Republicans.
“Sen. Paul is doing great work expanding our party, especially helping to bring in younger voters. Republicans are ardent defenders of the Constitution, including our First Amendment right to Free Speech, Second Amendment right to bear arms, and Fourth Amendment right against unreasonable search and seizure. These restraints are sacred to Americans, and the Cerro Gordo Republicans value each and every American and want to earn their vote by standing firm on these principles. Rand is helping communicate that message.”
