Gerald Gordon

    Gerald T. Gordon, 71, passed away at 6:50 a.m. on Saturday, April 28, 2012 at Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit, Mason City, Iowa.  A visitation was held Monday afternoon, April 30, at Ward Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, Clear Lake.  A memorial service was held at 7 p.m. Monday.
    In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be donated to the American Diabetes Association, 2600 72nd St. Suite 0, Urbandale, Iowa 50322.

    Gerald T. Gordon was born at 3:25 a.m. on April 27, 1941 to Russell and Helen Boise Gordon in Emmetsburg, Iowa.  He attended and graduated from Emmetsburg High School and furthered his education receiving his Associate of Arts Degree and Electronic Engineering Degree at Devry Institute in Chicago, Ill.
    Jerry was a man of many trades primarily working in the restaurant business.  He was the retired owner of Azzolina’s Hole in the Wall in Clear Lake and past owner of GB Sales in Algonquin, Ill., Fonte’s and “JJ’s” Pizza in Chicago.
    His main love in life was cooking, anything electronic that needed repairing, Vegas and traveling anywhere, anytime.  His secondary love was starting new businesses and selling anything from real estate to freezers for Eskimos.
    He will be missed by his children, Deborah Ann Kelly and Sandra Lynn Oshinski, Algonquin, Ill.; grandson, Paul Oshinski, Sharon, Wis.; brother, Dennis (Shirley) Gordon of Fredericksburg, Va.; dearest friend, Sally Azzolina and her children, Jennifer (Greg) Asche, Patty (Alexi) Meza, and Gerald’s step-son, Rick Pierce, and all their families along with four nieces and nephews.
    He was preceded in death by his parents, Russell and Helen Gordon; grandparents, Carl (Laura Berkland) Gordon and Samuel (Frederikke) Boise and his son-in-law, Timothy Dean Kelly.
