Gary Dale Hughes, 78, of Franklin, Tenn., died Wednesday March 18, 2015. 

Graveside services will be held on Friday, March 27, 2015 at the Nashville National Cemetery, where full Military Honors will be given. Memorials can be given to Avalon Hospice of Tennessee.

Gary was born, Jan. 31,1937, in Belmond, Iowa to Weston “Doc” and Ada Marie (Shahan) Hughes.  Gary joined the United States Air Force in 1954, where he served for 21 years and retired in June 1975.

Gary is survived by his wife, Joann Hughes, Tenn.; two children, Christine (Frank) Provenzano, Tenn., and Steven (Brenda) Hughes, Ariz.; five grandchildren, Kimberly Provenzano, Tenn., Daniel Provenzano, Ohio, Melanie Provenzano, Tenn., Kelli Widney, Ariz, Leah Hughes, Ariz; six great-grandsons; and many more beloved brothers, sisters, nieces, and nephews.
