G-H/V to play MC in Iowa Hall of Pride Challenge
The Garner-Hayfield/Ventura girls basketball team will be participating in the Iowa Hall of Pride’s community service initiative, the “Iowa Hall of Pride Challenge.” The Cardinals will play the Mason City girls basketball team in a “Pride Scrimmage,” on Friday, Nov. 16, at the Mason City High School gym. The freshman team will start at
4:45 p.m., with the JV and varsity teams to follow. Tickets will be sold at the door for $5 for adults and $3 for students.
As part of the Pride Challenge, the schools have identified a community service project that is meaningful to their school and community. This year, the basketball players from both teams will volunteer with United Way of North Central Iowa. In addition to the community service project, all proceeds from the game will be donated to the United Way to improve north central Iowa communities.
To volunteer, contact Drew Norton at [email protected] or call 641-423-1774. Multiple volunteer shifts are available.
