Faught leads CL girls track team with two wins
Steph Faught was a double winner for the Clear Lake girls at the Indian Relays run Tuesday, April 24, in Forest City. She helped the Lions to a third place finish among Class A teams. Algona won the division with 204 pints, followed by Forest City with 142 and Clear Lake with 101. Iowa Falls-Alden was fourth with 98 points and Central

Faught captured wins in the 1500 and 3000 meter runs. Her winning time in the 1500 was 5:36.47; teammate Sierra Greiman was fifth in 5:58.15. Faught crossed the finish line in 11:55.33 in the 3000, with Greiman placing fourth in 12:54.48. Another distance runner, Trudy Peterson, was second in the 800 meter run in a time of 2:36.91.
In field events, Brittany Bieber was fourth in the long jump with a leap of 13’ 4.25”. Brya Walton tied for fourth in the high jump, clearing 4’ 8”. Katie Hewett was fifth in the discus with a throw of 85’.
Other top individual performances included Aspen Curtis, fourth in the 400 meter hurdles in 1:16.17. Bieber was fourth in the 200 in 27.96 and Shelby Dickes and Kirsten Reineke were fourth and fifth respectively in the 100 in 14.07 and 14.15.
