Eva Marie Danner
Eva Marie Danner, 85, of Mason City, Iowa died Friday, June 1, 2012 at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit, Mason City.
Due to her wishes she will be cremated and a private memorial service will be held at a later time. Inurnment will be in the Sunset Rest Cemetery, Northwood, Iowa. Family suggests memorials to Hospice of North Iowa.
Eva was born in Northwood, the daughter of Oswald and Blanche (Westcott) Evenson. She attended school in Klemme, Iowa and graduated from Goodell High School, Goodell, Iowa. She then attended York College, York, Neb. where she met her future husband.
Eva married Harley Danner on July 14, 1945 in Des Moines, Iowa. They lived on the family farm in rural Northwood until moving to Nashua, Iowa. After her husband’s death in 1985 she moved to Mason City.
Eva was a licensed pilot; activity director; a decorator and enjoyed decorating her home. She was also a collector, seamstress, gardener, a great cook, care giver, music teacher and she enjoyed spending time with her family.
She was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church, Mason City.
She is survived by her four daughters, Vicki (Dave) McLaughlin, Stacy, Minn., Bobbe (Gene) Madson, Clear Lake, Penni (Jay) Kadel, Soda Springs, Idaho and Christi (Scott) Gaubatz, Rockwell, Iowa; eight grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Ed and Bobby Evenson; and her husband, Harley.
Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, Clear Lake, was in charge of arrangements.
