Employee accused of stealing more than 30K from pharmacy

A former employee of Clear Lake Pharmacy has been accused of taking in excess of $30,000 from the business.

As the result of a lengthy ongoing investigation, Abigail L. Roberts, 29, from Rockwell, Iowa, has been charged with ongoing criminal conduct (Class B felony) and 1st Degree Theft (Class C felony).

According to a release issued Monday by the Clear Lake Police Department, through its investigation it was found that Roberts had taken in excess of $30,000 from her former employer, Clear Lake Pharmacy.  Roberts worked there as a pharmacy technician.

It was found that the theft had taken place on numerous occasions through several different methods as far back as 2012 and as recently as July 2014.  

Roberts was arrested Sunday, Oct. 12, on arrest warrants stemming from the charges.

Roberts is being held at the Cerro Gordo County Jail on $10,000 bond.
