Donna Hendrick

Donna Jean Hendrick, 72, of Clear Lake, passed away on Wednesday, July 24, 2024 at the Oakwood Care Center.

Family will have a graveside service at a later date at Clear Lake Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made to the American Cancer Society - Hope Lodge, Iowa City, in honor of Donna and the time that she spent there, or any other charitable services.

Donna was born on August 9, 1951, the daughter of Carl and Lois (Costello) Reicherts. Donna grew up in Clear Lake; she attended and graduated from Newman Catholic School in 1969. She traveled and lived in different places, but eventually settled back in Clear Lake to raise her boys. Moving back to Clear Lake allowed her to continue her relationships with her friends and be closer to family members. Donna enjoyed making connections with people while working as a cashier at Casey’s and Fleet Farm gas stations.

In her free time she liked to read books, care for plants and watch western movies and shows. Donna loved spending time with her family and friends. Animals always had a special place in her heart starting at an early age when she grew up living on a farm.

Those left to cherish memories of Donna are her sons, Travis Hendrick, and Cody Abundis; step-son, Eric (Brenda) Abundis; siblings, Ron (Sue) Reicherts, Rodney (Colleen) Reicherts; numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

Donna is preceded in death by her parents; step-son, Billy Abundis; siblings, Chucky Reicherts (infant brother), and LuAnn Reicherts.
