Doebel continues winning ways

Brennen Doebel, a senior wrestler on the Clear Lake High School team, was invited to participate in the Annual North/South All Star Meet, held on March 28, in Charles City, Iowa.  The top seniors wrestlers in the state are invited to the meet.

Doebel faced State Champion Tristan Birt, of Dubuque Wahlert, and defeated him, 4-0.

On April 2-3, Doebel wrestled in the Post Seasonal Nationals at the UNI Dome, in Cedar Falls, Iowa.  Over 30 states were represented at the meet.  Doebel competed in a 64-man bracket where he finished in fourth place.

Doebel has also been selected to compete as a member of the Iowa Dream Team on Saturday, April 11.  The top Iowa senior wrestlers will take on a national team of top wrestlers.  Doebel will face Devon Brown, who is rated #2 in the nation.  This event will take place in Independence, Iowa, at 6 p.m.
