Distinguished CLHS alumni announced
Six Clear Lake High School alums will be honored as the “2012 Class of Distinguished Alumni” at the 2nd Annual All Class Reunion in September.
The Clear Lake Community School Foundation, CLHS Alumni Association and Historical Society has chosen these CLHS graduates to be honored:
Class of 1928: John H. Perkins. John Perkins was well-known as a columnist, author, community activist and Clear Lake historian. Perkins passed away in April 2011.
Class of 1949: Dr. Robert Replogle. Dr. Replogue resides in Chicago, Ill., where he works as an adult and pediatric cardio-thoracic surgeon. He is professor of surgery at the Pritzker Chiacho School of Medicine.
Class of 1957: Col. Nancy Noll-Elliott. This San Antonio, Texas resident was the first woman executive officer to the United States Air Force Surgeon General and the first woman to serve as non-physician medical commander in the USAF. Noll-Elliott has spent 30 years with the USAF in occupational therapy.
Class of 1960: Linda Ashland. The late Linda Ashland was an accomplished writer, focusing on the fashion industry worldwide. The writer/author penned “Women’s Wear Daily.”
Class of 1974: Janet Connell - Lovell. Jan Lovell, of Clear Lake, is being honored for her philanthropy, generosity and commitment to the community and her family. Lovell serves as President of the Clear Lake Independent Telephone Company.
Class of 1974: Randall Wreghitt. The late Randall Wreghitt became a notable Broadway playwright and Tony Award producer.
The 2nd Annual All Class Reunion is Sept. 13-15 and features the Homecoming football game at Lions Field on Friday night, Alumni Banquet at the Surf Ballroom on Saturday, school tours, Alumni reception and more.
