Delpha A. Marsh
Delpha Arline Marsh, 89, Clear Lake, died Sunday, June 2, 2013 at Mercy Medical Center of North Iowa, Mason City.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Friday, June 7, 2013 at the Christian Church, 302 Hwy. 18 W., Clear Lake, with Rev. Scott Wilson officiating. Visitation will be Thursday from 5 – 7 p.m. at Ward-Van Slyke
Colonial Chapel, 101 N. 4th St., Clear Lake, and one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at the Clear Lake Cemetery. Memorials may be given to the Christian Church in her name.
Arline was born Aug. 2, 1923 in Wolf River, Kan., the daughter of John W. and Stella E. (Johnson) Hudson. She attended schools in Kansas, Oregon and graduated from Red Oak High School, Red Oak, Iowa. She moved to Mason City in 1954 where she worked for Carroll Sales in Mason City and later worked at the Ritter Nursing Home in Clear Lake. She married Dale Marsh Jan. 30, 1966.
Arline loved cooking, baking and being on the farm. Dale and Arline traveled a lot and enjoyed their winters in Texas. Her mother told her she had movie star eyes. Arline’s church was her life. She loved her Lord and Savior and knew she would spend forever with Him when her life on earth was over.
Arline is survived by her husband, Dale Marsh, Clear Lake; three children, Cheryl “Cherry” (Dick) Hayes, Clear Lake, Janice Kay (Dean) Scheffert, Indianola, Iowa, and John Dale (Caryll) Marsh, Clear Lake; nine grandchildren; numerous great and great-great grandchildren; two sisters, Jeanne Gourette, Salem, Ore., and Joanne Albright, St. Petersburg, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews.
Arline was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Pamela Jean Doss; son, Douglas Charles Doss; grandson, Steven Scheffert; sister, Zelpha Downer; and brother, Ronald K. Tolles Jr.
Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
