Community Kitchen location changing

The Clear Lake Community Kitchen serves a hot meal each Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 5:30 p.m. to 6:15 p.m.  Mondays and Fridays the meal is served in the Fellowship Hall at Zion Lutheran Church, 112 N. 4th St.  The Wednesday meal has been served for the past years at the Clear Lake Senior Citizens Center.

Beginning Jan. 1, 2014, there will be a service site change.  First United Methodist Church of Clear Lake has offered to provide the Wednesday meal at their church along with their regular Wednesday evening meals.  They will do this for the entire year except for June, July, and August.  During those three months the church will still be the site, but the scheduled Community Kitchen groups will provide the volunteers to prepare the meals.

“The Community Kitchen is very grateful to the Senior Center for their support over the years.  They have been exceedingly generous with their facility.  Their flexibility and willingness to work to feed those in need is deeply appreciated,” said Community Kitchen leader Amanda Ragan.

Ray Faust will continue to be the local volunteer contact from November to April at 357-6567.  Interested volunteers may also call 641-424-2316 or [email protected].
