Clear Lake volleyball team experiencing ups and downs

“It was a great game to coach and watch as a fan of volleyball. That game helped us to realize what we are capable of if we come together as a single unit,” said first-year Coach Keith Sears. “It was an excellent game against a very competitive Crestwood team that came ready to play.”
The Lions showed great fortitude in fighting their way through some difficult situations. The team found itself down by eight points in the third set, and nine points down in the fourth.

Forest City Tournament
The Lions went 1-4 at the always-tough Forest City Tournament played Saturday.
“It was a good day overall,” said Coach Sears. “We had our ups and down throughout the day and helped bring out a couple things that we need to work on. We had a tough schedule and played well against some great competition that helped us realize what we need to improve upon as a team.”
The Lions earned a 2-0 win over Spencer, 21-12, 21-12. The Lions used 11 kills to score, led by Sidney Borrill with four. Emily Snelling had three and Emily Phalen put down two kills.
