Clear Lake golfers receive post-season honors

Clear Lake freshman Emily Snelling and senior Paige Backhaus have been awarded post-season honors by the Iowa High School Golf Coaches Association.
 The IHSGCA released its 2014 Spring Season All-Tournament and All-State Teams last week for Iowa high school classes 1A-5A. To be eligible for All-State honors, a player/school must be a member of the Iowa High School Golf Coaches Association. To be eligible for All-Tournament, First Team players finished in the 

top six (plus ties) at the State Golf Tournament in their respective class. Those on the Second Team finished in the next six (plus ties) at the State Golf Tournament in their respective class.
 Both players were named to the Class 3A All-Tournament teams, while Snelling also was a First Team All-State selection.
 Snelling finished as the Class 3A runner-up and helped her team to a third place finish at the State Meet played at Ames June 2-3. Backhaus capped her high school golf career with a 10th place finish.
 Snelling finished fourth in the Class 3A ranking for All-State.
Members of the First Team must be ranked in the top 10 in the final rankings on the Iowa High School Golf Coaches Association Rankings. Those named to the Second Team were ranked number 11-20 in the final rankings.
