CL girls track team faces tough competition
The Clear Lake girls found the going to be tough at the Bulldog Relays held Friday in Hampton. The Lions finished eighth in the nine-team field with 38 points. West Hancock won the meet with 137.
The Lions’ best finishes were provided by Sierra Grieman in the 3000 meters and the Distance Medley team of Megan
Merfeld, Brittany Bieber Sidney Borrill and Jaci Ullrich. Greiman was third in 12:34.20 and the relay was third in a time of 4:55.10.
In field events, Bieber was fourth in the long jump with a leap of 13’ 9.5” In the high jump, Sidney Borrill and Brya Walton tied for sixth, clearing 4’6”.
The Lions’ 4x400 with Bieber, Merfeld, Borrill and Hallie Hall was fifth in 4:27.94. The shuttle hurdle was also fifth with Tori Fyfe, Katie Adams, Ali Petersburg and Aspen Curtis. The group had a time of 1:26.69.
Also giving the team some points was the 4x200 relay with Shelby Dickes, Brianna Haugen, Marcie Dick and Hall. They were clocked in 2:00.08.
