CL boys have best track meet of season at Osage
The Clear Lake boys track team had its best outing of the season competing at Osage Tuesday, April 24. The Lions were third in the six-team field with 162 points. Osage won the team title with 260 points, followed by Charles City with 256. New Hampton (160), Saint Ansgar (125) and Nashua-Plainfield (100) rounded out the field.
“We are getting close to the home stretch so it’s good to see us continuing to improve,” said Coach AJ Feuerbach. The Lions are home this Thursday for the Jim Ahrens meet.
The Lions got off to a good start in the field events, with Chandler Diercks and Jake Harle placing second and third respectively in the long jump. Diercks had a mark of 19’ 10.5”, while Harle jumped 18’ 11”. In the shot put, Chase Crosby and Jordan Mitchell were fifth and sixth with throws of 41’ 3.5” and 41’ 1”. In the high jump, Zac Bendickson and Alex Vander Ploeg were seventh and eighth, both clearing 5’4”. Wylie VanHorn was seventh in the discus with a throw of 104’ 8”.
Connor Nosbisch was a winner for the Lions in the 110 meter hurdles in a time of 15.95. He also anchored the 4x110 meter shuttle hurdle relay team to a second place finish in 1:04.06. Relay members also included Tanner Tusha, Diercks and Jake Kockler.
Other top individual performances included a fourth place finish in the 400 meter dash by Hunter Bruns in 55.66 and a fourth place in the 3200 meter run by Jacob Baker in 11:09.21. Teammate Alex Enabnit was sixth in 11:34.95. Baker was also sixth in the 1600 meter run in 5:18.86 and Jake Iverson was seventh in 5:20.23.
Aaron Boeshart was fifth in the 100 meter dash in 11.98 and Jake Harle was fifth in the 200 in 24.24. Kockler picked up a sixth place finish in the - Read More Via e-Edition
