City OKs third phase of Pine Brooke Subdivision

    The Clear Lake City Council gave its approval Monday to the third addition of the Pine Brooke Residential Subdivision, located just north of 10th Avenue North.  Work is expected to begin soon to develop twin homes on nine lots. 
    The third and final phase of the subdivision represents a successful venture between the City of Clear Lake and Developer Tim Stenberg, of Joshua, Inc.    

    The land for the subdivision was actually gifted to the city many years ago and sat as a low-lying vacant plot of ground. The city even put out requests for proposals in an effort to recruit a developer for the land, but had no takers.  Over the years taxpayers funded improvements at the site, such as street and sidewalk construction, noted City Administrator Scott Flory.  
    When Stenberg expressed an interest in the property, city leaders were willing to work with him to see the land developed.  Recognizing the substantial private investment which would be needed to prepare the land, such as fill, infrastructure and engineering, the city and Stenberg worked out a deal to benefit both - Read More Via e-Edition
